Which of the 7 habits has the most meaning for you?
Why will the 7 habits help you fill your life with passion and purpose as you seek to achieve both a private and public victory?
Out of the 7 habits, I feel like Habit #6 (Synergize) is the most meaningful to me because this is where I feel like I'm at within my own career and experiences. It was so interesting to read the summary of the 7 different habits and see exactly how each of them fit into my own growth in all things from personal, spiritual and career experiences. It also reassured me that I was heading in the right direction and how I could improve and start Sharpening the Saw for the next steps.
Synergize is where I feel like I most often get stuck from an inward and outward view of myself. I've always been the person or colleague that was different than everyone else and always looking for the silver lining. I didn't and still don't fit into most 'normal' corporate groups - especially with other women, but I have found a way to synergize myself into most groups or teams. From there, I look to see how everyone else's personalities and even going as far as identifying their 'love languages' to help me see how to work better with them. So far, this has worked out incredibly well because I'm using their strengths to balance out my weaknesses and communicate those out to other teams (indirectly of course) to help synergize and help all teams work together.
The work that results or manifests ends up being beautiful and creative and most importantly - successful and launched on time, which is a win win for everyone.
It's also incredibly important to give credit where credit is due and never take credit individually for results.
The hardest part for me with the 'Synergize' habit is introducing new people in the mix when someone new is hired. It takes a lot for me to trust someone and want to make them accountable from day one, but still remember that everyone has a learning curve and to make sure to be patient and keep extra tabs on them and help wherever is needed.
